01
WHO WE ARE

An Independent Scholarly Publishing Enterprise

Macaw Publications provides a professional publishing platform for scholarly journals that communicate original research, reviews, technical studies, interdisciplinary investigations, methodological contributions, and other forms of academic scholarship relevant to their respective aims and scope.

Our publishing activities are organised around clearly defined journal scopes, identifiable editorial leadership, independent scholarly assessment, transparent publication policies, appropriate ethical oversight, responsible metadata management, and procedures for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the published scholarly record.

Macaw Publications regards journal publishing as a continuing scholarly responsibility involving editorial stewardship, research integrity, responsible peer review, accessibility, discoverability, preservation, transparency, and appropriate post-publication correction where required.

02

Publisher Transparency

Publisher identity, physical business address, official contact information, journal ownership and management arrangements, and journal-level editorial information are maintained to support transparent communication with authors, readers, reviewers, institutions, libraries, indexing organisations, and other scholarly stakeholders.

Business or organisational registration does not constitute government endorsement, academic accreditation, indexing recognition, or certification of the publisher or its journals.

04
JOURNAL PORTFOLIO

Scholarly Journals with Defined Editorial Scope

Macaw Publications manages a portfolio of scholarly journals covering multidisciplinary and discipline-specific areas of research. Each journal maintains its own title, aims and scope, ISSN information where assigned, editorial leadership, publication schedule, peer-review policy, author instructions, publication-ethics policies, access model, and journal-specific contact information.

Published content is expected to remain consistent with the stated aims and scope of the respective journal. Editorial board expertise, reviewer selection, author community, and article content should appropriately reflect the academic disciplines represented by the journal.

05
EDITORIAL GOVERNANCE

Editorial Independence and Accountability

Publisher administration and journal-level editorial decision making perform different functions. Macaw Publications supports editorial independence while maintaining appropriate publisher responsibility for infrastructure, policy transparency, ethical standards, publishing administration, and the integrity of the scholarly record.

Editor-in-Chief

Provides scholarly leadership for the journal and oversees editorial standards, manuscript assessment, reviewer selection, and editorial decision-making according to the journal's published policies.

Editorial Board

Consists of appropriately qualified scholars whose academic and professional expertise supports the journal's stated scope and editorial responsibilities.

Reviewers

Provide independent scholarly assessment within their areas of expertise and are expected to maintain confidentiality, objectivity, professional conduct, and appropriate conflict disclosure.

Publisher

Provides publishing infrastructure, policy support, production administration, metadata management, discoverability, ethical oversight, and mechanisms for maintaining the scholarly record.

06
PEER REVIEW

Independent Scholarly Evaluation

Primary research is subject to scholarly review in accordance with the peer-review policy stated by the respective journal.

Each journal is expected to provide a readily accessible description of its peer-review model, including who conducts review, whether reviewer or author identities are concealed, the role of external reviewers, conflict-of-interest requirements, editorial responsibility, and any article types that are exceptions to the standard process.

Reviewer recommendations inform editorial decisions but do not replace the responsibility of the authorised editor to assess the manuscript, the quality and relevance of reviewer reports, ethical considerations, journal scope, and the overall reliability of the work.

Macaw Publications does not guarantee manuscript acceptance. Editorial decisions should be determined by scholarly considerations and the published editorial criteria of the respective journal.

07
RESEARCH INTEGRITY

Publication Ethics and Responsible Research

Macaw Publications maintains publisher-level and journal-level policies intended to protect the integrity, reliability, and transparency of scholarly communication before and after publication.

01

Authorship and contributorship should accurately reflect genuine scholarly contribution and associated responsibility.

02

Fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, inappropriate image manipulation, citation manipulation, peer-review manipulation, and serious redundant publication are treated as publication-integrity concerns.

03

Relevant financial, academic, professional, institutional, and personal competing interests should be disclosed and managed appropriately.

04

Research involving human participants, animals, identifiable information, or other ethically sensitive material should comply with applicable ethical and legal requirements.

05

Credible allegations of research or publication misconduct are evaluated proportionately and may be referred to relevant institutions or competent authorities where formal investigation is required.

06

Published literature may be corrected through appropriate corrections, editorial notices, expressions of concern, or retractions where evidence demonstrates that action is required to protect the scholarly record.

08
ACCESS, COPYRIGHT & LICENSING

Transparent Access and Reuse Conditions

Access, copyright, licensing, author-fee, and reuse conditions are stated by each journal according to its publishing model. Where content is designated as Open Access, the applicable licence and copyright conditions should be displayed clearly on the journal website and, where appropriate, on individual published articles.

Macaw Publications does not apply a single author-fee model to every journal. Each journal therefore clearly communicates whether publication charges apply, the nature and amount of those charges, applicable waiver arrangements where available, and the stage at which charges become relevant.

The existence, absence, payment, or waiver of an author fee should not determine whether a manuscript is accepted or rejected. Editorial assessment remains separate from financial administration.

09
BUSINESS TRANSPARENCY

Publishing Charges and Commercial Independence

Author Charges

Any submission, editorial-processing, article-processing, page, colour, language-editing, or other author-facing charges are disclosed clearly by the respective journal where applicable.

Waivers and Reductions

Where fee waivers or reductions are offered, eligibility conditions and the procedure for requesting them should be communicated transparently.

Financial Independence

Author charges, sponsorship, advertising, institutional relationships, or other business considerations should not determine individual manuscript acceptance.

Responsible Communication

Journal and publisher communications should not guarantee manuscript acceptance, citation performance, impact metrics, indexing inclusion, or outcomes controlled by independent external organisations.

10
DISCOVERABILITY & IDENTIFIERS

Metadata and Persistent Scholarly Identification

Accurate metadata and persistent identifiers support reliable identification, linking, citation, discovery, and long-term management of scholarly content.

DOI Infrastructure
Digital Object Identifiers are assigned to eligible published content where applicable. Macaw Publications uses DOI prefix 10.70162.
Scholarly Metadata
Journal and article metadata should accurately identify titles, authors, affiliations, abstracts, keywords, publication dates, journal information, references, and persistent identifiers where applicable.
Author Identification
Authors are encouraged to use persistent researcher identifiers such as ORCID where appropriate to strengthen attribution and distinguish scholarly identities.
Indexing Information
Indexing and abstracting information is reported at the individual journal level only after coverage has been officially confirmed by the relevant service.
11
INDEXING TRANSPARENCY

Accurate Representation of Journal Coverage

Indexing claims are made only when they are current, journal-specific, and independently verifiable.

Macaw Publications distinguishes between DOI registration, metadata services, search-engine discoverability, directories, repositories, abstracting services, and selective citation indexes. Participation in one service is not represented as equivalent to indexing in another.

A journal is not described as indexed in Scopus, Web of Science Core Collection, DOAJ, or another selective service unless official coverage has been confirmed by the respective organisation.

Macaw Publications does not guarantee future inclusion of any journal in an independent indexing or abstracting service. Selection decisions remain with the respective external organisation.

12
DIGITAL CONTINUITY

Archiving and Preservation Transparency

Long-term accessibility of scholarly literature is an important publishing responsibility. Individual journals should maintain a publicly accessible statement describing their electronic backup, archival, and long-term preservation arrangements.

Macaw Publications identifies specific preservation services only where participation is active and verifiable. A service, repository, or preservation network is not represented as an archival partner merely because it is technically compatible with the publishing platform.

13
SCHOLARLY COMMUNITY

Diversity and International Academic Participation

Macaw Publications seeks meaningful participation from researchers, reviewers, editors, and academic advisers with appropriate expertise across institutions, disciplines, and geographical regions.

01

Editorial decisions should be based on scholarly considerations relevant to the manuscript and not on nationality, geographical origin, ethnicity, religion, gender, political belief, institutional prestige, or other characteristics unrelated to academic evaluation.

02

Editorial and advisory appointments should reflect genuine academic expertise, professional suitability, and active consent to participate rather than symbolic inclusion.

03

Geographic and institutional diversity are encouraged where appropriate, while relevant scholarly expertise remains a fundamental appointment criterion.

14
PUBLISHING POLICY FRAMEWORK

Transparent and Verifiable Publishing Policies

Macaw Publications maintains publisher-level and journal-level policies covering the principal responsibilities of scholarly publishing. Policies are reviewed periodically and should accurately reflect the practices implemented by the publisher and its journals.

Publication Ethics & Research Integrity

Policies addressing authorship, contributorship, misconduct, competing interests, ethical oversight, data integrity, complaints, appeals, corrections, and retractions.

Peer Review & Editorial Process

Policies describing review models, reviewer responsibilities, confidentiality, conflicts of interest, scholarly evaluation, and final editorial decision-making.

Open Access, Copyright & Licensing

Clear information concerning access conditions, copyright ownership, reuse permissions, applicable licences, repository practices, and author rights.

Editorial Independence

Separation of editorial judgement from financial, administrative, commercial, or inappropriate institutional influence.

AI & Generative AI

Responsible use and disclosure of AI-assisted technologies in authorship, manuscript preparation, peer review, editorial processes, and scholarly content.

Post-Publication Integrity

Procedures addressing corrections, expressions of concern, retractions, scholarly discussion, and continuing stewardship of the publication record.

15
SCHOLARLY PUBLISHING STANDARDS

Commitment to Continuous Improvement

Macaw Publications periodically reviews publishing policies, editorial procedures, website information, journal metadata, technical infrastructure, and scholarly communication practices as research environments and publishing standards evolve.

The publisher's policy framework is informed, where relevant, by recognised principles of publication ethics, research integrity, transparent scholarly publishing, responsible peer review, and discipline-specific academic standards.

Reference to external organisations, principles, or guidance does not imply membership, accreditation, endorsement, or certification unless such status is separately stated and independently verifiable.
