Special Issues

General Information

Synthesis: A Multidisciplinary Research Journal welcomes the publication of Special Issues that focus on emerging, timely, and impactful topics across disciplines. Special Issues are curated collections of articles that delve deeply into specific themes and are overseen by Guest Editors with expertise in the field.

Special Issues serve to:

  • Promote focused dialogue on current research trends

  • Highlight contributions from interdisciplinary perspectives

  • Foster collaboration among scholars globally

  • Provide a platform for in-depth exploration of niche or evolving topics

Each Special Issue is subject to the same rigorous peer-review process and editorial standards as regular issues, ensuring quality and academic integrity.

Guidelines for Proposing and Managing a Special Issue

To ensure transparency and effectiveness, all Special Issues must adhere to the following framework:

1. Eligibility to Propose

  • Proposals are welcome from individuals or teams of researchers, ideally with a proven publication or editorial track record.

  • Guest Editors should hold a PhD and be affiliated with recognized academic or research institutions.

2. Guest Editor Responsibilities

  • Define the theme, scope, and objectives of the Special Issue.

  • Invite submissions from experts in the field.

  • Coordinate the peer-review process in collaboration with the journal’s editorial team.

  • Ensure ethical standards, plagiarism checks, and conflict of interest declarations are upheld.

3. Editorial Oversight

  • Guest Editors will manage the review process but final decisions rest with the journal’s Editor-in-Chief.

  • All communication and progress must be transparent and documented.

4. Review Process

  • Articles submitted to a Special Issue undergo double-blind peer review.

  • At least two independent reviewers per submission.

  • All accepted articles are published online upon completion, with the full issue collated later.

5. Important Considerations

  • The topic should align with the journal’s multidisciplinary scope.

  • Promotional activities (e.g., social media, conferences, networks) by Guest Editors are encouraged to attract quality submissions.

  • A minimum of 6 accepted articles is required to compile a Special Issue.
