Author Guide Lines (Publication Criteria)

These are the essential criteria that must be met for an article to be considered for publication in the Macaw International Journal of Managerial Studies and Research. Failure to comply with these criteria will result in the rejection of the article by the editorial team.

  1. Manuscript Preparation: Articles should adhere to the manuscript preparation guidelines outlined below.

  2. File Format: Manuscripts should be submitted in Microsoft Word format exclusively.

  3. Cover Letter: Each submission must include a cover letter. Detailed instructions for cover letter preparation are provided below.

  4. Font and Layout: Please use Times New Roman font with a font size of 10 points. Keep the layout of the text as clear and straightforward as possible.

  5. Equations and Formulas: Equations and formulas should be legible, preferably created using equation editing software (e.g., MathType). Alternatively, authors are required to provide the font information used for creating equations and formulae.

  6. High-Resolution Figures: All included figures should be of high resolution, preferably set at 300 dots per inch (dpi).

  7. References: Ensure that references are formatted in accordance with the Vancouver Style of Referencing.

Manuscript Preparation Guidelines

Abstract and Keywords

  • Font: Use Times New Roman with a font size of 10 points for the abstract text.
  • Style: The entire abstract should be in italics.
  • Length: The abstract should not exceed 300 words.
  • Content: Ensure the abstract provides a concise and clear summary of your research paper, including:
    • Background: Briefly introduce the context and background of your research.
    • Objective: Clearly state the research objective or problem addressed.
    • Methodology: Describe the research methods used.
    • Results: Summarize key findings or outcomes.
    • Conclusion: Provide a concise conclusion and discuss the significance or implications.
  • Clarity: Write the abstract clearly and avoid jargon to ensure broad comprehension.

Keywords: Include a minimum of 5 keywords for indexing purposes. Format keywords in title case, separated by commas. Avoid general and plural terms.

Introduction

  • Begin with a brief explanation of relevant domain knowledge.
  • Provide an overview of existing issues in the field.
  • Present your proposed solution and highlight the paper's contribution.
  • Outline the organization of the paper section-wise.

Sections

  • Follow the chronological order:
    • Title
    • Abstract
    • Introduction
    • Background or Literature Review
    • Methods and Materials
    • Data and Results
    • Discussion
    • Conclusion
    • Acknowledgments (if any)
    • References
    • Cover Letter (optional)

Cover Letter

  • Compose a cover letter, written by the corresponding author.
  • Explain why the manuscript is suitable for publication in the Macaw International Journal of Managerial Studies and Research.
  • Include all authors' names, preferably with their signatures.
  • State that the article has not been published elsewhere or submitted to other publications, except the Macaw International Journal of Managerial Studies and Research.
  • If a student authors the manuscript, ensure institutional department approval is obtained before submission.

Electronic Formats

  • Submit articles in MS Word (.doc) format.

Article Title

  • Use Times New Roman, 22 points, and bold.
  • Keep the title concise, specific, and free of abbreviations.
  • Present titles in title case (capitalize all words except prepositions, articles, and conjunctions).
  • Italicize botanical names (e.g., Genus species).

Author Names & Affiliations

  • Use Times New Roman, 12 points.
  • Provide first names or initials, middle names or initials (if used), and surnames for all authors.
  • Include department, university or organization, city, state, and country for all authors.
  • Designate the corresponding author with an asterisk (*) and provide their email address.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of author list and contributions.

Abbreviations

  • Define all abbreviations upon first use in the text (e.g., Functional Points (FP)).

Units and Symbols

  • Use appropriate symbols (e.g., α, β, µ) and follow SI units.

Headings

  • Number headings in Arabic style format.
  • Use title case for headings (capitalize all words except prepositions, articles, and conjunctions).
  • Italicize botanical names.

Figures: General Guidelines

  • Supply high-resolution figures in TIFF, JPEG, or EPS format.
  • Maintain a minimum resolution of 300 DPI.
  • Keep file sizes below 20 MB.
  • Include figure captions in sentence case style (e.g., Figure 1. Percentage of detection rate vs. number of nodes).
  • Obtain permission for copyrighted figures and tables.

Tables: General Guidelines

  • Include tables in the text file at the article's end.
  • Title tables as Table 1 with a period (e.g., Table 1. Stimulation settings).
  • Explain abbreviations in footnotes.
  • Avoid tables extending beyond one page.

Acknowledgments

  • List individuals who contributed but do not meet authorship criteria.
  • Ensure their consent to be named.

References

  • Include only published or accepted manuscripts.
  • Format in-text citations according to the Vancouver style.
  • Arrange the reference list numerically by citation number.

Review/Decisions

Upon submission, manuscripts undergo an initial screening process. Manuscripts deemed to lack sufficient quality or competitiveness for publication will be rejected at this stage. The remaining manuscripts proceed to a rigorous review process, where they may receive one of the following decisions:

  1. Accepted as Is: The manuscript is deemed suitable for publication without further revisions.

  2. Minor Revision: Minor revisions are required to address specific issues. Authors should resubmit their revised manuscripts within 7 days.

  3. Major Revision: Major revisions are necessary to enhance the manuscript's quality. Authors are provided with constructive feedback, and they should submit their revised work within 15 days.

  4. Rejected: Manuscripts that do not meet the journal's standards or fail to address reviewers' concerns may be rejected.

Language Requirement

Only manuscripts written in the English language will be considered for publication. Authors are responsible for ensuring the accuracy and quality of the manuscript's content, including text, citations, and references.

Plagiarism Policy

We maintain a strict zero-tolerance policy regarding plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, across all our journals. Manuscripts are subject to plagiarism screening both before and during the publication process. If any instance of plagiarism is detected, manuscripts will be rejected at any stage of processing.

Submission

Submission Guidelines:

  1. Integration of Figures and Tables: Combine all figures and tables within the manuscript to create a single file for submission.

  2. Manuscript ID: Upon successful submission, the system will generate a unique manuscript ID. This ID will enable you to track the status of your paper at a later stage.

  3. Acknowledgment: After submitting your manuscript, the corresponding author will receive an acknowledgment within 24 hours.

  4. Originality: We welcome original research articles that have not been previously published and are not under consideration for publication elsewhere. The corresponding author is required to confirm that the manuscript is submitted on behalf of all authors.

  5. Copyright: It's important to note that upon acceptance of the manuscript, copyright will be vested in the publisher.

  6. Rejection: Manuscripts that do not meet our publication standards will not be returned to the authors.

  7. Acceptance of Guidelines: Submission of your manuscript implies your acceptance of the journal's guidelines for authors.

Modifications

Modifications to submitted manuscripts are permissible only before the publication stage. Once a paper has been published, further modifications or revisions will not be accepted.

The Macaw International Journal of Managerial Studies and Research (MIJMSR) welcomes contributions in the following categories:

  1. Original Research: Manuscripts presenting original research findings.

  2. Survey/Review Articles: Comprehensive reviews of scientific topics, providing valuable insights into the field.

  3. Fast Communications: Brief, self-contained articles focusing on ongoing research and important findings.

  4. Technical Notes: Concise notes that offer technical insights and contributions to the field.

We encourage authors to carefully consider their submissions and make necessary modifications before the publication process begins. Once a paper has been published, it is considered final and cannot be altered.
